The Chooks shorter head profile makes it a very aggressive lure with a tormenting head shake. The Chook quickly rose to success on the NZ's west coast in its first season debut, with a number striped marlin catches. Like all JB lures, it is keel-weighted for swimming in all conditions and wide speed range. This head is an ice-blue pour with a mirror foil insert, large goggle eyes, skirted in Yo Zuri skirts evil colours.
Venn designed the Chook in 1987. Since that time, it too has accounted for numerous records, the most notable being the World's first Millenium marlin in the one-day Grand-Slam. A single Chook caught three striped marlin, one blue and one black, while fishing out of Jervois Bay, Australia.
